Saw this at this morning's paper (PhilStar).

Can't find any pictures online.

Side note: PhilStar's website needs a lot of work. Search doesn't work and navigation was a bit confusing. Bonus points for the RSS feeds.

  1. coool.. i think this is a big step forward for pinoy car makers..i just wonder how much the electricity bill will cost to charge a battery that's enough to power a jeepney for 120kms hehe..sana efficient yung power consumption niya.

  3. I hope the fleet gets larger. It's not bad at 500,000 Pesoses.

  4. Yup! Para maubos na yung malakas mag-pollute... now if we can educate the drivers... Wink

  10. ang galing nito sobra. almost too good to be true, in fact. for some reason i surmise that there would be less traffic offenders from the jeepney drivers if they drove an e-jeepney. hehe. however, i am much intrigued about what the jeepney drivers' association have to say. im sure may mga setback pa din. the cost of maintenance, resilience of jeepney parts against harsh whether and environmental conditions (heat, rain, flood--sobrang bumabaha pa naman sa ilang parte na makati). also, hindi kaya takaw-nakaw yung mga parts ng jeepney na to.

pero galing talaga. i do hope we could have an e-jeepney over, dito sa dlsc, and have someone talk about it/demonstrate how it works. galeng!!! 2 thumbs up!

Or para masyabang Pinoy, gumawa tayo ng sarili natin (see #6).

  12. JP, that is a very good idea! Maybe we can even invite LIFE to participate in this endeavor. Care to write a letter? Maganda din kasing galing sa student para makita ng lahat na ang mga students natin really cares for the environment. Smile Imagine, may DLS-C at LIFE logos sa e-jeepney, ganda ng marketing ng three parties!!

  13. Two points:

    • My letters end up as hate mail. Writing and communication is not my strong point.
    • Di ako enrolled ngayon.

Maybe somebody else can write it then I'll help sabotage it or maybe co-sign it (kaso walang maitutulong ang pirma ko, baka laway, pwede pa).

We can take it a notch up with the jeepney using Bepots for payment. That's something I'd want to be part of.

  14. Okay, maybe the Student Council can spearhead? Smile

    mcagmcag on Friday, 06 July 2007, 13:36 PHT # |

  15. Yep. Sino nga ba yung president? Or kahit environmental ekla-churva?

    A couple of questions:

    • Pwede kaya makuha yung battery ng libre (for academic/research purposes)?
Hahahaha
    • Medyo di na related: pwede kaya parang tram? Less energy ba ang kailangan nun?
    Sino pa may ideas?

    JP LohJP Loh on Friday, 06 July 2007, 13:49 PHT # |

  16. yes. (hehe. ako sumagot eh no? sige na!!!!) :)

    rubysohorubysoho on Friday, 06 July 2007, 13:50 PHT # |

Hahahaha

parang Moped... or Flintsones (panay padyak! haha!)

Kapag nag-agree ang school, maybe an agreement with the government or at least the advocates of the e-jeepney regarding discounts, disclosure of tech specs, etc.

BTW, magkano ba talaga to? Sabi dun sa isa 500k daw, yung isa naman 380k. Undecided

    mcagmcag on Friday, 06 July 2007, 14:00 PHT # |

  18. (panay padyak! haha!)

Hahaha!

  19. Found more links:

Tinawagan ko na rin sila (Greenpeace). Yung jeepney ay 7,000 Euros (438,605 Pesoses according to XE). Galing daw China dahil buong unit yung ginawa. Tapos yung parang power plant na ginagamit nila ay Anaerobic Digester (uses kitchen waste according to a quick google). 150,000 Euros daw (9,397,660 Pesoses).
