i've heard some rumors that SM Hypermart is to be put up either where the palengke (Paseo de Santa Rosa Country Market) is or where Sandra's Language Learning Center is (the vacant lot in front of Mercury Drug, after the stoplight). Henry Sy simply can't get enough! now that's what you call a real entrepreneur.. kudos!

just a couple of thoughts..

-what makes Starbucks Starbucks?

-what does it have that make people want more?

-is their coffee really that good?

-is it the relaxing and comfy ambiance?

-or just a place to be seen?

it just so happens that i spot fellow La Sallians there everytime i go to Paseo during weekdays.. mere coincidence?

kapag walang electricity sa DLS-C?

-lumalabas ang kaartehan ng karamihan (as if naka a/c kayo buong araw sa bahay n'yo..)

tama nga naman ang kasabihan na we don't know what we have 'til it's gone..

we students always have something to say about the people standing in front of the classroom, discussing, checking our exams, homeworks, etc. in short, ang ating mga dakilang guro. we never seem to get satisfied with them.. either he or she is too strict, too mabait, moody, relaxed, annoying or simply boring.

i bet it's not an easy job to deal with monsters like us. it's one versus two dozens. yet, the teacher's word still prevails. David and Goliath, eh?

well, my question is.. if you were to be a teacher, how would you treat your students?

post away..

we all know that piracy is a major problem here in the Philippines..

i want to know how YOU deal with it. are you against or for it? do you buy anything pirated? may it be cds, dvds, clothes or any other? why? does the 40pesos temptation get to you? haha..

a funny incident happened today just before my manacon class. while we were waiting for our prof, i was browsing through a friend's music on his laptop. i am fond of oldies music (i'd bet that my dad never played any nursery songs when i was a kid, instead he played the beatles, simon and garfunkel, chicago, rod stewart, etc.). anyway, i played a song named i wanna know what love is. i was quite surprised, just like many people were.. when the chorus started to play, almost everybody in the room was singing. haha.

i don't know why.. but i still appreciate oldies tunes (specially from the 70's and 80's) more than the music nowadays. songs from those times were more meaningful (i heard my cousin chanting to a tune: balls, balls, balls.. what the?)

do i sound manang-ish? haha..

the new seven wonders of the world were announced during the official declaration ceremony in Lisbon, Portugal last Saturday, July 7, 2007. and the winners are:

[ drum roll.. ]

The Great Wall of China

Petra, Jordan

Christ Redeemer, Brazil

Machu Picchu, Peru

Chichen Itza, Mexico

The Roman Colosseum, Italy

and The Taj Mahal, India

what's interesting about this is that these were through global election. people actually voted by means of online voting, phone calls and sms..

kung may Pinoy place lang na maiboboto, malamang pasok din tayo.. talong talo sila kung txt ang usapan. haha. sadly, our natural sights are not so nice anymore.. hmmm..
