Phares Jeconias F. BathanEnglish Basic Final Draft   “BEGINNING WITH AN END IN MIND”           Beginning with an end in mind - what does it mean? It doesn’t sound familiar. What is the main content of this? Does it have a goal? If you want to find exactly what is the meaning of this, it will be good to have an example.  Let’s take as an example going to school. Of course we will not go to school without any purpose or goal. We all go to school for certain reasons.  Majority of the reasons is to finish a course then hopefully get a good job later.          Finishing a course is not a joke.  It’s not easy especially during the first term in college because you don’t know your classmates, you don’t have friends, you don’t know who the instructors are, you don’t know what to expect, etc.   There are lots of temptations around.  Because you are new and you want to belong, the temptation is strong. The temptation to join students who cut classes to play computer games, the temptation to join friends who are happy go lucky,  the temptation to sleep during class hours, the temptation to just have a good time and be lazy all the time are some of them.   If you give in to the force of these temptations then it is possible that you will not have focus on your studies. If you do not have focus on your studies, there is a possibility that you will fail your subjects. What will happen if you keep on failing?  Of course you will repeat the subjects.  When you repeat subjects, you pay again; you will graduate late or drop out in the end.  Dropping out of school is not your goal in the beginning.  If this happens, you fail to meet the goal. So focus on what you are doing, knowing that it is necessary to achieve your goal. Be strong so you will not give in to temptation.  Always remember that you have a goal and you want reach that goal in time. Take some time to relax but be sure to go back on the track. It is good to keep your goal in mind in the beginning, make it an inspiration to keep you going. Stay focused no matter how hard to until the end.
